I love 'The Hours'! What Michael Cunningham did with the three totally different women's storylines amazed me when I first read it. The film version is also surprisingly faithful to the book. I also usually end up taking a magazine to the beach (particularly when my kids were younger) or a collection of short stories that I can dip in and out of.
Three more books for the TBR, thanks! I've been enjoying the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman. Despite their advanced ages, the characters are witty and fun and always get their man.
